Parts made for restoration of historic racing car

Updated: Apr 2

The ERA E-type racing car for which we made components.

A component made in our workshops for the racing car

It has been a privilege to help with the restoration of a piece of British motoring history – a 76-year-old racing car.

We were asked to make an adapter plate, clamp, housing and cover for the supercharger of an ERA  E-Type GP2, built in 1948.

The single seat, 1.5 litre F1 racing car took part in the first Grand Prix at Silverstone. But it had lain idle since 2008, its engine seized after standing for some years in a museum.

Having stripped the car to its bare bones, the Huddersfield-based owners have made good progress in the rebuild and plan to race it in the future.

We have extensive experience in making components for classic vehicles, so please call us if we can help with your project.
