Here's a good example of our recent work: A phosphor bronze wheel with a cast iron turned and machined hub and a EN36 steel case-hardened worm.
Steps in the wheel process:
Bronze wheel pre-turned, cast iron hub finish-turned, keyway slotted, bronze welded to cast iron, bronze wheel finish machined, cut with worm wheel cutter, final inspection and final grind of worm if additional backlash is required.
Steps in the Worm manufacture:
EN36 steel, case-hardened, turned to drawing or sample, keyways machined, worm pre-cut, sent for heat treatment, straightened on site, diameters ground, worm profile ground.
